It has been an honor to serve as County Commissioner since 2007. I am running for re- election because I believe in the work we are doing. I want to continue to sustain and improve the quality of life and the environment that we enjoy in Boulder County, to preserve our farm, ranch and open lands, to improve human services for all, and to provide good, open government and innovative public service for our citizens. I will continue to take great care of the public purse, making sure that the taxpayers' money is wisely spent. I take fiduciary responsibility for managing the county budget well, especially in these challenging economic times.
I am proud of these actions, among many, which we have taken in the last three years:
- We launched the County's first Human Services Strategic Plan.
- We appointed the new Food and Agricultural Advisory Council, to support local food production.
- We approved the County Sustainable Energy Plan, and the ClimateSmart Loan Program.
- We have worked regionally and statewide to address challenges facing residents of the county and state.
Your County Commissioners are thoughtful decision makers, careful stewards of our public resources, and committed public servants. Boulder County is our home, and along with you, we work to sustain what is best, and encourage innovative solutions to the challenges facing our community.
